Have a bunch of the blighters preparing to devastate our garden. I'm live-trapping, but my first efforts have been a flop. Other than cabbage or lettuce any ideas?

They like the clover in my yard, but I can't kill that without my wife getting concerned about stuff in the food chain.

Air rifle/.22 is unfortunately not an option...

Let that clover grow in your yard. The more of that you have, the less they want your garden.

I've never live-trapped rabbits, so I'm not sure. Having a dog out around the twilight hours (when rabbits are most active) really helps around here.

I have used apples, carrots, clover from the yard, and lettuce before. I caught 8 at my buddy's house last spring this way. I leave a little outside of the trap basically making a trail for them to follow to a big pile inside the trap.

Apples will do it. Cut a chunk out of one. Make sure they are good sweet apples. Even some peelings if you are doing cooking with the apples.

I gave up trying to get rabbits to get in my box trap. I tried carrots, lettuce, apples, and other stuff.

Then I set up a short fence around the part of the garden with the greens and peas and that kept them out. I don't have very much trouble with them eating the other stuff.
