Have been listening to his filibuster for a couple hours. It's a good schoolin on the Constitution. Several senators have come back to the chamber to talk, too. His main theme is domestic drone use. He brought up things like if you are pro life, believe in the Contitution....you mght be a terrorist. Also about the checks and balances and how Congress has been allowing the Exec branch too much leeway for years. Pretty non partisam.

Rand offered to end the filibuster if the senate were to vote on issuing a statement saying that they were against the killing or assassination of US citizens without due process of law. NOT issue the statement...but VOTE on issuing the statement. Illinois' own Durbin voted it down.....so the filibuster goes on....

I'm just now becoming familiar with Rand Paul - impressive.
I think this type of display of democracy in action is exactly what the Founding Fathers had in mind when deciding that we would have a Senate and a House of Representatives.

May favorite part was Dick Durbin objecting to a resolution against the President killing U.S. citizens at home with drones. He objected to that, that better be in a commerical for 2014.
