I was talking to a person who never saw the sea the other day.
And that made me wonder how many of you (mainly Hoosiers) never been to a beach and saw the sea (or ocean). :dunno:

If you did see the ocean at least once, where was it? :)

I'd have to stop and think for a minute on just how many I have seen. The most "memorable"(?) was a year on an island in the Aleutians, with the Bering Sea on one side and the north Pacific on the other side. (Lovely part of the world.) My favorites were the Red Sea and the Mediterranean (both beautiful.)

I have seen the Ocean a few times, but due to insufficient funds, and my lack of free time. I haven't seen enough of it. Hope to be able to travel a little more and see some of this beautiful world!

look at all these spoiled Hoosiers! ^v

I lived in Philadelphia for a while and we spent our summers in New Jersey on the coast. I lived in Daytona Beach for a while too. And my in-laws live on the Outer Banks in North Carolina so we're at the beach a lot when we go to visit them. I can't say I've ever seen the ocean on the west side of the country though.

Grew up on the Gulf Coast and saw it all the time. I've seen, in no particular order, the Med, The Pacific, Atlantic, China Sea, Sea of Japan, The South Atlantic, The Red Sea and the North Atlantic. I like the sea. Going to go back to the Atlantic in the fall this year. Can't wait.

Seen the Atlantic, Pacific and Gulf of Mexico from different locations. Spent 30 years in Texas. Have also flown over the Atlantic and Pacific.

Pacific from 3 sides as well as the Atlantic/ Indian/ Med and I'm sure a bunch more. Been to 25 countries so don't remember the oceans/ seas offhand.

When I was in Panama I actually saw both the Atlantic and Pacific within about an hour of each other.

We would run convoy protection from Fort Sherman on the Atlantic side to Howard Air Force base on the Pacific side.

The bridge across the Panama Canal on the Atlantic side was actually part of the Gatun locks. You would literally have to wait on ships to pass through the canal and the doors to close before you could drive across.
