    Forgive my ignorance, ignoring the issue of the owner being a douchebag, what was the issue with the grip? I don't understand that part of it.

    I think he was claiming it was a vertical grip on an AR pistol, which is a no-no. Angled grips are okay though.
    Thanks, that makes sense. I didn't even think of an AR pistol. I don't know why, but I kept picturing something like a 1911 and wondering how the grips could be illegal.

    Gun stores use the law as a fence to not do something that they personally do not like.

    I was hot to buy an HK93, walked in with the money, everyone on stools talking about bass fishing. Wanted gun, asked to buy it, was told that they gun was "highly illegal" and the "basic law" says that they cannot sell it, right back to fishing hour.
