Range Report for First Ruger 10/22 Build

I couldn't take it any longer, i had to get out and shoot the new toy! It was a little windy today, but not bad so i decided it was time. After splitting/stacking three truckloads of wood with dad, we broke her out. The range was 50yds, with a slight wind out of the northwest at 8-10mph. All were 10 shot groups and I was using CCI 36gr HP Mini-mags, Remington 36gr HP Golden Bullets and Remington 40gr RD Nose Target loads. (Everything i had in the safe).

The build was as follows...

Hi-Desertdog 16" Fluted Stainless Barrel

PC Trigger kit

PC Scope mount

Leupold Rings

Tasco Scope

Hogue Overmolded Stock

Up first, the Remington targets

Then came the Remington Golden Bullets

Then the CCI Mini-Mags

For now i've decided to go with the Mini-Mags, although the bulk pack golden bullets exceeded my expectations and the targets coming in dead last. Hopefully i'll be able to find some match ammo to see if i may be able to tighten them up even more.

All together, i've got around $330-350 in upgrades so far with a few more planned. But I'm very happy with her so far, WELL worth the $$$ in my opinion!

Looks like a fun day. I love 10/22's. One of my all time favorites.

Seems like you Ruger has the same perferance as mine. Mine does it's best with Wolf match. You might give it a try. Elly (sp?) does well too.
