    Great report Mark and Alan!

I wish more people would take along their cameras on range days!

I would like to get my mosin on steel with irons at 300+. Maybe you guys would be up for a tag along next time. Plus I could use the advice in the form of Elementary Education. :)

Great post. Good shooting. There is nothing like a superbly scoped precision rifle. And 42769vette offers and can supply the best optics with a lot of expertise on mounting and use.

I HAVE to say it though....

It can also be done with irons on that huge orange target.:)

I hope this doesn't sound pissy....

If it does, it is only because you didn't invite me....

Mark, did you try some of Alans Wolf MT .22lr ammo?
Word on the interweb says the the Savage MII FV-SR loves this ammo.

That said, I just finished my FV-SR build this evening, I can't wait to get some rounds thru it.

    Not by THIS cowpoke! :):

Don't sell yourself short. You can, and from a sling from the prone or sitting position too.:)

I would be glad to demonstrate and "learn" any doubters....

Of course, at 750 yards, a scope is imperative for target ID, but a scope is not imperative to make a hit.

Again, not to take away from you guys' great shooting....

great write up. and alan is a great host and knowledgeable.
we were there last april for a shoot with 16 shooters so i know what you are talking about that 750 yds is a long way off. it was cold and WINDY that day with alan helping read the wind for all of us with the valleys and changing wind speeds and gusts.

i know people shoot open sights long distance and do well, i did back in the 60's but now i have to use a scope for any kind of accuracy, so i hope your scope business does real well.
