Rangefinder or calls tether

I am looking for some system to keep my rangefinder ready, but out of the way. I have seen a few online but it seems like there are several different parts or accessories I have to get to make it all work. Do any of you have anything you already use, or have any ideas? I was thinking about somehow attaching a strap to a retractable tether then strapping it around my left arm so I can still grab it with my right while my bow is in my hand. Another option is to sew a small d-loop out near my left shoulder, then clip the tether to that. But I have a few different tops I use, and think the strap would be more universal. I appreciate any ideas or products you can suggest. Thanks.
