Ranges for 30-06

So I am new to owning firearms and have not found a reliable place to practice with my model 1917 30-06. I live in northern indiana and would like to find somewhere to shoot this gun with some range. I would like to try some decent ranged shots with it but for now I would be happy with 100 or 200 yards. Private would be nice especially if I could form a friendship with like minded gun enthusiasts and learn a few things. Public would be fine also as long as the range fee was reasonable. Any leads would be appreciated.

Roush Lake Range at Huntington, $4.00 for all day, 100 yards. Hillside at Roanoke, 500 yards I believe.

I second Hillside. It's been a few years, but I *think* you have to be a member to use anything past 300 yards. They have one out to 1000 yards though.

i need a skid steer to make a good back stop so i can shoot my moisn i could do 500 yards, if i can get something to make the backstop and rail road ties for the backstop also might be able to work something out

St. Joe county restoration club in Osceola has a 100 yard range. $75 a year. It's actually in Elkhart county (Jimtown)

Sand Burr Gun Ranch in Rochester. Three rifle ranges, 200 yards max. Ten bucks to shoot all day. 15 for a family all day.

Indiana DNR Winamac Fish & Wildlife area has a range. It is free. It has 25,50,100,200 yard ranges on it. It has a paved parking lot, built in range benches on concrete pads with overhead covered pavilion,Paved sidewalks down to back stop boards,on site restrooms, paper targets only. Open Tuesday thru Sunday ( DNR does range maintenance on Mondays). I have shot 30-06, 308,303,7.62x39 there for years. It is a very nice range.
