    Realtors lobby the congress critters who are supposed to oversee HUD or the bureaucrats who run it to put the edicts in place. What's that saying that that Leadnose or whatever guy says? Follow something or another?
    What alternative universe do you live in? Do the congress critters oversee the ATF? LOL

    Do the congress critters control the purse strings? Doesn't congress have the authority to investigate and oversee? How many hearings lately have had Fauci and others being brought in?

    And also completely ignores the possibility of them lobbying the bureaucrats that run it and set the rules.

    Don't think not being a Realtor eliminates this. This comes straight from HUD and the other usual suspects and applies to all real estate agents.

    What comes straight from HUD? Nothing in their press release or magazine indicates a mandate, it's their own decision along with Redfin who started it.

    Realtor.com and Redfin are taking a stand against crime data being listed on their websites. The real estate companies have removed the data due to growing concerns that it could perpetuate racial inequity.
    Realtor.com announced that it has removed its crime map from all search results to “level the playing field.” It is reassessing what safety means to buyers and renters and what information they decide to share about it going forward on realtor.com.

    Both companies said they were concerned the statistics promoted racial bias and may not be reliable.

    “We know that one of these questions [buyers have] is whether they’ll feel safe in a given home or neighborhood,” Chief Growth Officer Christian Taubman wrote in a blog post on the company’s site Monday.

    “But the data available don’t allow us to speak accurately to that question, and given the long history of redlining and racist housing covenants in the United States there’s too great a risk of this inaccuracy reinforcing racial bias.”

    I'm not following your argument here. HUD is mandating Realtor do this but not competitors? What exactly do you think HUD's involvement in this is since you keep saying it's a government mandate.
    Trulia is not in the real estate business, not a competitor, strictly advertising. HUD is constantly telling the real estate industry what to do, probably not the way that your search’s will find.

    So you are accusing the independent agents of conspiring to hide crime data through their national organization to sell houses to unsuspecting consumers. Talk about conspiracy theorists…
    Independent agents? Maybe/maybe not. The national organization? Again maybe/maybe not. And I didn't accuse anyone, once again simply agreeing with BBI's speculation.

    And are you saying companies/orgs wouldn't do such a thing? I'm pretty sure I've seen you in some of the vaccine threads. Hell some of the vaccine companies have employees that are literally on the govt payroll helping investigate said vaccines... Hell what is the entire purpose of hiring lobbyists? Isn't it to get legislative/bureaucratic results that favor their employers? Whether that employer is the NRA/NAR/Pfizer/etc. Heck the same goes for when you or I write a letter to our respective congress critters either state or fed.

    Whether they know it or not, they have basically implied that all high crime areas are predominantly inhabited by a particular race. Is that not racist in and of itself? Crime statistics in and of themselves are racially neutral.

    I can tell you that the real estate industry are and always have been terrified of the feds. They fear losing their independent contractor status and the feds interpretation of anti trust as it applies to them. It does not take a even a “mandate” to get the industry to do their bidding, Just a hey we are now interpreting this clause this way now and they follow. Remember as DieselR pointed out the leadership is likely left leaning anyway. They have never stood up to the feds…
