Disband the jackboots? Are you kidding? How would the town ever survive?

No doubt the cops do have something better to do, but right now they need to raise funds through extortion. Then they can fund a SWAT team and maybe even get a "free" MRAP. Then they can get on to more important things and like busting down doors if little Jimmy doesn't feed his puppy. Maybe, if they can extort enough funds from the townspeople, they can even get some flash bang grenades to lob through the window before they restrain Jimmy for not feeding his puppy.

The stupid little asides from Officer McMoron really took away from the message that the author was trying to convey. At least attempt to be objective in your reporting, Reason.

I'm guessing there is only one or two officers on duty at a time, so needing to call for help from other jurisdictions for violent domestics, burglaries, or similar situations would be unavoidable regardless of how many tickets they are writing. I'm also guessing that there probably isn't a whole lot of crime in such a small town, so they probably have much more time than Denver or Aurora to look for those minor violations. My department runs more traffic than a much larger department, and probably not as much as a much smaller department, so that makes perfect sense that they write a lot of tickets. Their bosses (mayor, town council and, ultimately, citizens) must be okay with the job they are doing, so why is this website interjecting? I think having a law against an air freshener in the window is stupid, but it seems like a more effective response would be to lobby for a change to the law.

The SWAT team would bust down the door, have Jimmy proned out with an M4 muzzle brake pressed into his neck, send his parents to jail, strip search his little sister, and shoot the puppy. A flashbang would only come into it if he had an infant sibling that was in a crib. They're dangerous.

Then don't f*****g go there. Up to the folks of Mountain View, CO. to change it if they don't like it.

Many similar such laws and ordinances in Indiana.
