I know I'm asking you to compare apples to oranges but I was wondering if there would be much difference? I have shot the xdm but I am interested in the xd-9sc.
There is a little difference, but not that much. It is what you get use to. You said in your introductory post that you are from Indiana. Are you coming home for the holidays? Is there a local range where you could rent both and compare how they feel? Do you have friends that enjoy shooting sports? Get together with friends and ask to shoot the different calibers. It really is about how it feels in your hands.
I recently bought a XD-40 subcompact. I debated between the .40 and 9mm before my purchase but after trying both I felt the .40 was better from a defense perspective.
I have a XDm 40 and took a XD40sc to the range recently. Recoil was manageable and getting back on target was easy enough. I can only see the XD9sc only being easier
