I bought my wife a 20 gauge 870 for HD. She loves the shotgun. Holds and shoots it well with any ammo we have ran through it. Now that she has become more familiar with it, we are looking at HD rounds for her.

My question is what do you recommend for a good 20 gauge HD round?

I was thinking something in number 3 or 4? Thoughts?

In before "buy it online". I'm with pirate. Where are the best places to pick up 20 gauge buckshot? It used to be real common down South, back when I was younger and hunted with a 20 gauge. I haven't seen any anywhere I've looked here in Indiana. Seen some online, but a local source would be better.

Exactly. I can find some things that seem pretty good online, but none local. It seemed like when I was younger everyone carried #2,3,4 buck. Even some specifically marked for HD.

    Now, not so much.

Maybe its going out of style?

I don't know of any manufacturers that make 00 Buckshot in 20Ga any more. That's why I recommended a 1-4 shot.
