Anyone know of any good videos or websites that talk about/show gun safety? Before I sign up for classes and buy a gun I'd like to learn as much as I can.

This is the gist of what you need to know, the 4 rules.

    1. Treat all guns as if they are loaded.
    2. Never let the muzzle cover anything you are not willing to destroy.
    3. Keep your finger off the trigger until your sights are on the target.
    4. Be sure of your target and what is beyond it.

I don't really frequent any sites that specifically cover safety only, sorry. If you follow those 4 rules without exception, you will NEVER have a negligent discharge that results in an unintentional injury.

Well, before you buy your first gun I'd recommend taking the NRA Basic Pistol class. You'll learn the basic operation of various types of handguns, and more than likely get to handle different ones. It will help you make a more educated buying decision. Tactical Firearms Training and Indy Gun Safety are two site sponsors that offer classes in the Indy area.

www.guntalk.tv has a gun safety section with a bunch of short videos in it that look like they may be what you are looking for.

There are several good NRA basic trainers on INGO. I highly recommend your taking basic pistol. It really is the place to start. What part of the state do you live in OP?
