Im watching one of my favorite movies, Red Dawn. I absolutely love this movie and am seeing a lot of parallels of today. For instance, them talking about troops coming through the Mexican border. It's all somewhat relevant to some of today's events in the world.

Anyone else a fan of this movie?

I always liked it too.... and being a Wolverine from Michigan I cant not like it !!!

The new remake is due out this winter.... not sure how it will compare but the weapons and special effects should be much better.

I didn't know the new one was out this soon. It will have better special effects but nothing will ever replace the original.

I would think so. It's amazing to me how many people have never heard of the movie. I think it was pulled from the theater shortly after it was released because it was too real.

Love this movie. It's available for streaming on Netflix right now

I think the remake looks good. Can't wait to see it. Not sure how I feel about the change to the North Koreans but we'll see.

The remake looks terrible. Casting is questionable. The actor from Thor and one of those former Disney child stars play Jed and Matt. It will be a toss up if I go see the new one.

The remake was delayed due to issues MGM was having. Originally the plot involved China claiming the U.S. because we could not pay off our debt. However, they changed it to North Korea to be PC. Kinda of a let down IMO.

Just seen this thread, and was going to post this as well, but looks like you got me beat. It looks like it had so much potential, but then PC'ing it, and they just wasted the change to remake an awesome movie. Everything was already there. Changing it to NK? They cant even feed themselves let alone get enough row boats to cross the ocean. (I was stationed in SK in 1998-99). I know their military isnt bad, but come on, few nations could attempt to cross the ocean and attack, NK is not one of them.

The trailer doesn't look completely terrible. I'll go see it probably but I don't think anything will be as good as the original, as in most cases.

Stupid and gutless move. Changed it from plausible to unbelieveable.
