I have shopped at the outlet store for years. Whenever I come home with cases of ketchup and etc. my wife asks the same question. Why? I give her the same answer. We have 5 kids. Never had any issues with out of date product. You can buy Red Gold branded product and their generic brand at a reduced price.

Speaking of their generic products, RedGold is the largest US private label producer for these products. Wal-Mart brand ketchup, Kroger, Marsh, meijer, etc, etc are mostly all produced by RedGold, just with a different receipe. I actually like some of the cheaper brands better.

I alwaysbuy Red Gold products from ketchup to salsa to the canned tomatoes and sauces. My reasons for buying only Red Gold products are that they are an Indiana company. One of my supervisors is a farmer and he grows for Red Gold, nice knowing that the product in that can was grown possiblly only a few miles from my house. I also have a friend whose family grows for Red Gold and another friend who hauls the trailers from the field to the processing plant. And lastly...they taste good!

Mmmm... Like me some Red Gold catsup. and tomatoe juice. And diced tomatoes... And .... well, you get the idea. I don't have to live next to them in Orestes, or Geneva, so I love the stuff. They do run all year long, though obviously right now is their busy season. They employ lots of people, and pay pretty fair. I consider them to be an asset to the state.

Ok, went to the outlet factory Thursday. The process was painless. Well sorta. They had so many things at such good prices it was hard to choose what I wanted. LOL. When it was all said and done I had bought 31 cases of various products. From ketchup, to salsa to tomato paste. I didn't get NEAR what I wanted to, but I am happy for now. Next time I'm taking more money and a trailer! LOL
