For years now and without a lot of recognition teaching institutions have been telling our kids what a horrible place we live in. We killed the Native Americans and spoiled the land We embrace slavery even though we sacrificed 200000 of our own to abolish slavery, we banned and reinstituted alcohol. OUr elections are rigged. We according to Accademia have been the driving force for evil in all the conflicts of the past 200 years.
This is at least part of the reason our kids don't love America the way we do. They have been taught by the left to abhor America and all it stands for, The instead worship Chea and Fidel and Uncle Hoe and Mau. They don't even believe the Holocaust happened or if it did it happened as the history books say. At the time of the discovery of death camps in Europe, Eisenhower ordered troops to take as many pictures as possible for this simple reason. After 70 years it's easy to say it never happened or never mattered.
So our children don't believe in the US at all let alone US exceptionalism. To some degree, this explains the Heroin epidemic as well. They were taught wrong and we let it happen.
    Pray for our country
Pray for our children and pray for forgiveness.

When did INGO become a "teaching institution"? :dunno: They're ones telling me American is flawed.

As for today's kids, are they any different from the protesters of the sixties? (honest question)

I also fail to see how failures in teaching US History drives anyone to heroin; that's a bit of a stretch.

    He wants kicked out.

    Martyrdom (professional) for the cause.

He'd book 5 figure speaking engagements the next day and 6 figure by next summer.

So... he'd be for hire? ;)

Bull :poop:, we never killed anyone. Democrats long ago owned slaves, started a civil war, started the KKK, ordered the trail of tears and wounded knee.

We those living today neither Dems or Repubs are responsible for those atrocities.
Don't forget the internment of the Japanese.

    ETE quote.

"We" = United States of America
You can chase that red herring as if a teacher is referring to Americans living today, but the only takers you'll find, are the intellectually dishonest.... but I'm used to that group's revisionist thinking at this point.

About that Red Army Faction t-shirt:

"Bombing outside of Officers' Club followed by a second bomb moments later in front of Army Security Agency (ASA), U.S. Army in Europe (HQ USAREUR) at Campbell Barracks. Known involved RAF members: Irmgard Möller and Angela Luther, Andreas Baader, Ulrike Meinhof, Gudrun Ensslin, Holger Meins, Jan-Carl Raspe.

3 dead (Ronald A. Woodward, Charles L. Peck and Captain Clyde R. Bonner), 5 wounded."

    https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Red_Army_Faction

More evidence showing he supports violent organizations that oppose the U.S.

I also recognized that Red Army Faction (RAF) T-shirt immediately. I arrived at Rhein-Main AFB on a flight from CONUS the morning after its officer's club was bombed by the Baader-Meinhof Gang. I don't believe anyone was killed in that one, but two or three were injured. The Red Army Faction was in its 2nd generation. The Bundesgrenzschutz which were the West German paramilitary border police during the Cold War, had armored cars and armored personnel carriers with heavy weapons around the airport perimeter. Federal Polizei with Uzis were everywhere in the Frankfurt Hauptbahnhof (main train station).

Let there be no doubt the Baader-Meinhof and RAF in West Germany, and Red Brigades in Italy (Brigate Rosse) were dangerous terrorists. Very shortly after I arrived, the West German Public Prosecutor General was assassinated (equivalent of the US Attorney General). In 1979 there was an attempt on General Alexander Haig's life. The latter half of 1977 became known as the German Autumn with a spate of terrorist acts and they continued into the 1990's. Their reach included killing West German government officials in Sweden, France and The Netherlands.

Humans have the capacity to do horrible things and humans have done and still do horrible things. And humans socially evolve their morality as we figure out how to better operate in the world. To say that America is more horrible than other humans at the same time with the same human capacity for doing horrible things is disingenuous. Indians did horrible things to other tribes. It's not like they were any more immune to the human capacity for harming each other than Americans, or Europeans, or Africans, or Mayans, or any other human group.

Maybe some cultures develop systems which are a little more capable of advancing moral standards than other cultures, but for the most part, not. Claiming America is uniquely evil is either dishonest or simply ignorant. People held slaves throughout human history. It took a long time to figure out owning people--for whatever reason, race, debt, class, religion, punishment, whatever--is immoral.

To impose the standards we've socially evolved over all this time to people before those ideas evolved is incredibly hubristic. It ignores the genetic programming for humans to do evil, and the social evolutionary process that has gotten us to this point in moral standards.

Red neck revolt reminds me of the old Wizard Of Id comic strip.
Rodney comes running in yelling "Your majesty, the peasants are revolting!"
And walking away the king says, "They certainly are."
