    This thread is where we list words that are present in both redneck vocabulary and regular vocabulary. These words mean very different things but sound exactly the same to rednecks and city folk.

    I'll start.

    Defense.
    TRADITIONAL DEFINITION- pronounced De-fense
    resistance against attack; protection: Two more regiments are needed for the defense of the city.
    EX, In my defense, I did not know that she was afraid of rats.

    REDNECK DEFINITION- pronounced Da-fence a structure typically found surrounding property, typically to keep people and animals in or out of the area.
    EX, After you git done painting defense, make sure you close degate.
