I'd love to find out if you guys/gals register your guns with the manufacturers after you purchase them? In other words, do you send in the warranty/registration cards or register online?

I'll be honest, I don't like the idea of a permanent record of a firearm purchase existing. It wouldn't be so hard to imagine the government going after that information from manufacturers.

Nope, I have never sent the card in. Never had an effect on repairs, warranty or otherwise. I'm with you on not giving out too much info.

BTW, delete this post after you read it please.:):

I do on my guns. The dealer's got me in his bound book anyhow. I hope they'll send me coupons for stuff from their online store, but they haven't yet.

HECK NO! Do you want junk mail? Plus I'm paranoid that Big Brother may be watching. Only so many of my guns can "fit" at the bottom of Lake Mic.. u know. =)

I also do not register with the manufacturers of the guns which I do not own now nor have I ever owned at any time during, before or after having been on any boat, schooner or other watercraft on navigable waterways in this or any other state, county, township or municipality.

I don't, but I don't see it as being that big a deal. If you have service or repairs done, there will be a record of that, so once you have service or repair done, any "advantage" gained by not sending in the "warranty" registration card is gone.

After checking out all the manufacturer's sites of guns I use to own, I have determined that none of them cover gun loss by boating accident, so I see no reason to register the guns that I no longer have in my possession.

Whats this "warranty card" you speak of....
    GUNS!....
    Warranty?

Guns are icky..... they should all be banned....

    :D

On a serious note: Heck no! I've NEVER sent in the warranty card.
Never had an issue either... course I've only sent one gun back for repair in the last 25 years. Now I just fix the darn things myself.
