I was recently given this Remington 700, which I believe is a VLS. It's chambered for 22-250, has a 26 inch heavy bull barrel, adjustable trigger, and a bushnell 4-16 scope ( I am unable to tell the model, but it seems much more than your typical bushnell). My question is, any got a good idea how to check the date of manufacture? Is it truly a VLS ... And what is it's value?

Also, has anyone ever shot one of these? What can I expect at 200-300 yards? I'd like to take a trip out west prairie dog hunting, which I have a heavy barrel AR for, but was thinking of taking this as well.

    Thanks in advance

I am getting Sub-MOA 5 shot groups with 55gr Dogtown HPs behind a mild charge of RL15(don't remember the exact weight at the moment) at 100yds. Haven't had a chance to stretch it out past that yet.
