    When it comes to shotguns I'm fairly clueless unlike my 3rd gen smiths. You would think 2 ports for mag to bleed gas off faster and 1 for 2 3/4 to allow sufficient pressure to operate the bolt. Will look for a 2 3/4 barrel. Checked my shells and seen I was using/ have federal copper plated turkey loads, as I could of swore I had fired steel when I took my first turkey 5yrs ago.

    Magnums have more pressure so only get one port..
    Steel shot is lighter, doesnt have as much pressure.
    Non magnum steel wont cycle a magnum bbl.

    Ports vary by bbl length too.
    There used to be a chart some place on the web about 1100 gas ports
