In the June issue of Shooting Times. OMG... I want one bad!! I'd suggest checking it out if you get ST, or can pick it up on the newstand. They put it through a 2000 round test.

I'm waiting to see if it's a forged frame and slide before I make up my mind.

If it's cast, the Springfield Mil-Spec would be the better deal.

Any projections on what the retail price might be?

I guess it is finally that time for my first 1911 that I've been painstakingly looking for and avoiding.

Dude that thing looks awesome. When I first heard about Remington making a new 1911 I was hoping they would make it be old school and not tacticool. :D If it has a forged frame and slide, as someone else has said I may consider this over a Springfield mil spec.

Also does the article say if it has a Series 70 or 80 firing system?

    Article said $699 retail.

I can't remember if it said 70 or 80 series, I glanced over it pretty fast at walmart so I didn't have to buy it:):

I'm going to the store right now to buy that magazine. I have to see it and read it myself.

Thanks, one more thing to add to my dream list.

From what I've gathered MSRP is $699 and the gun is made in Remington's NY factory. This is the first gun I am buying once I get back to the US, if I like it as much when I handle it in person.

I finally found a local book store that had the magazine. OMG, that is one sweet looking 1911. I'm rolling quarters and selling my aluminum cans tomorrow. If anybody want to buy some baseball cards, PM me.

I may even may a trip to the plasma bank, must have gun.
