So...is someone going to take these one at a time and discuss how they are bad?

82hrs/week for a trucker sounds reasonable to me, I've worked effectively for that long with heavy machinery - that's less than half a day over a 7 day period. Calling them "sleepy" makes it sound bad, not very objective.

I could say the same thing about "clean water". Some restrictions need rolling back as they are hurting economics and not necessarily helping the environment. "Clean" does not and can not mean zero parts per million.

The Democrats got just as big of donations from Wall Street as Repubs do. There are also more open Democrats at the head of major banks and investment firms than Republicans. Obama and company helped them out greatly. Both parties are corrupt.

No no no...the Republicans are the good ones.

    I saw it on INGO.

Republicans and folks who think 9/11 was NOT an inside job are not considered 'good ones" on INGO...Yes a few of us are on here but we don't get much "Republicans are the good ones" from the crowd here........The good news is that here on INGO Republicans (along with Evangelicals) are not a protected class and name calling, Faith slamming, etc... are allowed and considered good sport....

Notice the reference to slavery in the OP..."Repubs bow to their masters..." That is okay and not considered bigoted or racist in anyway because it is slamming Republicans.....Whole threads can be devoted to "Evangelicals are ruining the Country" and not a peep will be heard but try a thread saying "-------- seem to be a bit violent for a religion don't you think?" and you will be put on notice....

It's okay and as long as one dislikes and makes fun of the Party that the Media, Pop Stars, actors, and actresses (notice I didn't call them your "handlers" or "masters") tell you to dislike you will be fine....

Now kick back and revel in trashing those Republicans!!!! We deserve it and it a sick sort of way we revel in it as well....

We are now and have always been punks or has been rockers.......

I too have worked 80 hours and more effectively in a week. However, I have also worked 60 and 80 hours a week, every week for several years straight. I know after just 4 or 6 weeks I was not working effectively. I'm just glad I'm retiring soon and won't have to commute daily on the roads with truckers having to work these extended hours.

Its already hard enough for truckers to make money at a 70hr cap. It takes money to live on the road and more money when you have family to support at home. Im a former trucker and grew up in a semi so I could go on for days at the problems and ideas that could fix a lot of the issues in the industry.

Banks would probably be better if the Federal Reserve was actually the Federal Reserve. Both parties are complete and total garbage... The only reason I vote republican is because I am a selfish SOB and like my guns way too much to even chance loosing them.

Banks: "...keep swaps trading in units with federal backstops..." - discuss and explain please.

Basically, it means organizations which reorganized themselves on paper from Investment Banks into Bank Holding Companies after the housing melt-down, in order to qualify for access to TARP funds and the Fed discount lending window (loans which can't be made public because the Fed can't be audited) - those organizations are now again freed to go play Casino with OPM. And if it those bets go bad, many of these organizations' funds are also backed up by FDIC deposit insurance, meaning We The People are on the hook for making them whole...a-gain (the old "Too Big To Fail" thing - Part Deux). It means the a-holes who got the big bonuses during the melt-down are back to being Investment Banks again, with Public Funding backup still intact. The Bad Old Days all over again, Glass-Steagall made a mockery of, all that.

They've basically rolled back the additional controls that were put in place after the housing melt-down...quietly of course, after the spotlight has been turned elsewhere.

    Thanks Publicans!

So, Mr. and Mrs. 'Murica - gotcher Fantasy Football teams lined up for next year? Make sure to vote them back in again.

(The Politicians, of course - not the Fantasy players).

Ok, so Republicans are voting against regulations? Aren't regulations and government control enemy #3 on INGO?

So Republicans are supporting free markets and people are upset?

    I don't get it.

Don't worry. Google's self driving vehicles will put human truckers out of work before you know it. Then it won't matter in the slightest, since robots don't get tired, bored, or have full bladders. Well, there's probably a robot in Japan that has a full bladder, but it doesn't drive trucks.

Democrats sure don't get a warm reception on INGO, Republicans a bit better, but you must be a True Believer Libertarian (but not THAT kind of Libertarian) to be cool.

    I don't get it.

That's because you ignored the part about how the Taxpayers (born and unborn) are once again the co-signers on this arrangement. There's no Free Market when the moral hazard is obviated by Ma & Pa Kettle's checkbook.

P.S. but Johny Football is starting this weekend! (we reeallllly need to get some economics education into the Law School curriculum :ugh:).
