Here's an interesting idea. As 12-Volt accessory to your alarm current home alarm system, hook up this baby and automatically pepperspray the room when an intruder sets off the alarm. Nice!

    Repulsar I

If you already have an alarm system, the Repulsar is for you! The REPULSAR I is a ceiling mounted OC aerosol device with a larger capacity than the Burglar Bomb. It is designed to be an accessory to any 12 volt alarm system, although it can be made to operate independently with as little as $30 worth of additional parts.

The REPULSAR I has a warning tone with adjustable time delay to alert forgetful owners to turn off the system. The Repulsar I is a crucial addition to any security system. The Repulsar I will likely make the difference between success and failure, between protection and loss. Don't wait until it's too late to upgrade your system.

    Features:

    • 6 x 1 ¼" into room x 7 ½" into ceiling Compatible with most 12 volt DC alarm systems

    • 0 - 40 second time delay with built-in warning tone.

    • Full Functioning testing capability

    • Can be reloaded in seconds without tools

    • Inconspicuous ceiling mounting. (resembles a smoke detector)

    • Terminal block for convenient wiring.

    • Cast aluminum housing.

    • Includes one large capacity 6 oz. OC (pepper) aerosol cans.

    • Protects up to 2,400 sq. ft. of indoor space

    ^ That's what I was thinking.

    IC 35-47.5-2-2
    "Booby trap"
Sec. 2. "Booby trap" means a device meant to cause death or bodily injury by:
    (1) hiding the device; or
    (2) activating the device by trip wires, switches, antidisturbance, or other remote means.
    As added by P.L.123-2002, SEC.50.

Sec. 4. "Bodily injury" means any impairment of physical condition, including physical pain.

Yeah, it qualifies as a booby trap, alright.

40 second delay, and a warning tone?

    Warn the burglar?

I also wonder how many homeowners will inadvertently "gas" themselves! What about pets?

Yeah...how many alarms are false alarms...?

Sounds like a good idea if false alarms never happened, but with that probability, it's a stupid idea.

this is exactly what i was thinking when i read it. i dont know what the statistics actually are but it has gotten to the point where so many are false, the police nearly ignore homeowner alarms. or are certainly slow to respond. and i didnt even think of the booby trap thing.

Remember the guy that attached an electrical lead to his political yard sign because people kept stealing them? He set up a video camera and caught it zapping a young kid! He didn't get charged if I remember correctly.

What about the cleanup of this OC thingy?

I'm a fan of giving property owners free use of their land and home, to do with what they please. If some punk gets pepper sprayed as he busts into your kitchen, that's his fault.

Clean up? I have no idea. Its gotta be better than the clean up after other methods of self-defense...
