I really want one of these. I hope a upper is offered, id buy one for sure.

Im guessing that they could sell one for the $700 range if they took the BUIS off and maybe offered a cheaper rail system (or plain no rail handguard model). Ruger has hit the jackpot with a good rifle, at a very good price.

Ruger has their own metals casting faclities, and a picture of a lower on their casting company's website, so hopefully they make it.

The guy at Gun Blast is a great writer; his stuff is always a wonderful read. He also seems like he is an interesting character; I would love to meet him some day. Im also very jealous of all the toys he gets to play with.

The problem is that, like any other gun writer, Iv never seen him give a bad review to ANYTHING. Gun writers are masters at playing up a guns strengths and ignoring its weaknesses. Reading an article by a gun writer to research a potential purchase is like going to the National Enquirer for fair and balanced news articles. Its best that we enjoy them for what they are; a good time, and a good read.

I would love to have a Ruger SR-556, but the price is just blowing me away. I really hope they start to come down after being out awhile.

2k isn't bad for a gas piston AR that comes with troy BUIS, and handguard. Heck that's $400 right there. They do need a cheaper version though.

Real world price is $1499. you can pre-order it from impact guns for that price.

I think Iv said this in every SR556 thread so far. I give up.
