Hogdon BLC(2) is what I'm using. Seems to be consistent feel to the ammo I've cooked through. Only making plinking ammo right now, while I gain more experience doing rifle ammo. Really want to get a chronograph soon.

Only problem I've had was primers seated to deep, so I'd get some light strikes.

Gander Mountain has usually had it in stock when I've been looking.

27gr - 748, winchester 55gr PSP, winchester small rifle primer or wolf small magnum rifle primer. This is a plinking load that I use.

I bought a 1 lb. can of Varget for $22 today at the 1500.

Gander Mountain has the CCI 400 Primers for 2.99/100, they're usually 3.99/100. I don't know if all the CCI primers are this price since these were the only ones I wanted. They've also got other reloading items on sale.

    TAC

Seeing a lot of the normal responses, so I'll throw in another contender into the ring. I definitely like Ramshot TAC for my 223 reloads, you can get some at Atterbury for around $22 per pound and they can get you an 8# keg if you need it (I think I paid around $150 for mine but don't quote me on that or any other prices). TAC burns pretty clean for me, I'm running 25gr over a 55 gr m193 bullet and have not had any issues. The Outdoorsman has always had super high prices on powder and, well, anything! I'm thinking about trying BLC-2 when my TAC runs out, it's always fun to develop a new load!

I'll be reloading .223 in the near future, FMJ for my M4 to start out. What powders are you guys using? I looked at Hodgdon Varget, but it's around $30 per LB. I do not want use crap powder. Also, what about primers? I was going to go with CCI, as I have have been happy with their small pistol primers.

For .223, I use BLC (2), with the CCI #41 5.56 mil spec primer and lake city cases with a 55 gr bullet.

I use AA2230 and CCI-400 primers for my .223. The AA2230 also works well in my .308 reloads.

Ramshot Tac is good & cheaperjust a little dirty burning ,I use mostly Win 748 but am changing to the new IMR 8208, with great results. BLC-2 is a good one too to try. All these meter very well thru a thrower unlike longer stick powder like imr 4895
