I hear you! Last night I ordered from targetsportsusa.com
    TS0035-BULK - 0035CCI Standard Velocity 22 Long Rifle Ammo 40 Grain Lead Round Nose-Case of 5000 (10 Boxes of 500) - FREE SHIPPING1$239.90$239.90

Walmart had Remington Golden Buckets/1400 rounds 2 weekends ago for $45 (3 cents/ea.) and I missed it.
It had been on sale for "some time" and when I went to get some last weekend: sale over!
I had $120 in gift cards (retirement party) for Cabelas and got 8 different items: ammo, handgun rugs & a shirt).
Cabelas had the Golden Buckets for $85 (6 cents/ea.): outrageous! :dunno:
Been buying one every few months for $70 at Hoosier Armory (5 cents/ea.).
Cabelas did have another brand (not familiar) of some copper-covered round-nose rounds that were $63 ((4.3 cents/ea.).

Not really a fan of golden bullets myself. Don't run well in most of my guns and tends to be crappier overall. Not much more money gets me Federal Automatch, which works great in my pistols, or CCI SV which works well in everything.

TSUSA has CCI SV for $22.07 per 500rds with a Prime account.

They also have 38gr Blazer for $16.55 per 500rds. I believe it's different from previous 40gr stuff, but not sure on how it performs. .

I ordered a couple of bricks earlier today and noticed the price/rd on the 100 pack is quite a bit higher than the 50 rd paper boxes. Any know differences other than the packaging?

I do not own a Ruger 10/22 but it sounds like most start the modifications which leaves little of the original gun. There are so much aftermarket support that you can build a gun from the ground up. Has anyone tried the new Brownells BRN-22 receiver? Looks like a decent start for a mid priced build?

A quick search shows this. The 100rd plastic packs are P/N 0032 and the 50rd paper boxes are P/N 0035. There are some old discussions in the links below on a few forums found after I searched " CCI 0032 vs 0035". Depending on what you read below, their may have been some different powders along with higher velocity on some of it. Current CCI listings show it as the same stuff now though, so who knows.

This is my attempt to gain entry to RFAA, otherwise known as Lollipopper’s Anonymous. I dug my old 10/22 out of the back of the safe, bought a barrel and trigger off of Turbo and the stock off of another INGO’r.

Looks like it should shoot. I really like the ergonomics on the Magpul stock.

Think I have 3 10/22's currently. One Fedderson rcvr that I got for free and 2 Kidds that I didn't. I'd be interested to see how the Brownells stacks up for manufacturing tolerances. Forged, MIM'd, or machined?

P.S. Barb says we should call our organization Dum-Dums Anonymous. :):

We got the NRL22 match in with heavy rain a good portion of the time. The shooting positions were set up under the firing line roof which wasn't ideal but was still a blast.

It is a difficult competition but very fun and I'm looking forward to the next one.

Some time back I mentioned that using higher scope rings than necessary would create a higher arched trajectory than low rings and gave the impression that that was a negative thing.

Well...it appears that is not always a negative thing. I received my Hawke extension rings so I could move the scope forward and installed them.

When I plugged the new 'center of bore' to 'center of scope' dimension into a ballistic calculator set for a 50 yd zero, the hold overs for every distance that matters to me were slightly less than with the lower rings.

Short version...my earlier info was not necessarily correct. I was wrong.
