Leonard Nimoy, Spock of ‘Star Trek,’ Dies at 83

His final tweet. Sounds like he knew his time was nearing an end

    Leonard Nimoy said:
A life is like a garden. Perfect moments can be had, but not preserved, except in memory. LLAP

    He was cool beyond logic.

From "Zombies of the Stratosphere", through "Star Trek" and "Mission Impossible" and all those movies... another piece of my childhood went with him.

    Sad news, for certain.

I am a tried and true Star Trek fan from way back. And we just can't let this man pass without a few smiles:

RIP to a great actor, and to a great man who was much more than just a role in a decades old show.
That character, on the other hand, has resonated with people for almost 50 years and has inspired millions of Trekkies--and I'd be lying if I denied I was in that group. I grew up watching Star Trek over and over and over--and still enjoy the originals just as much today. Of course, the whole thing would have fallen completely flat without the tension and camaraderie between Spock and Kirk, which Nimoy really brought to life. An inspiring show that pushed the boundaries for its day and still gives us hope for tomorrow.

Somehow, 83 just seems too soon, and he most certainly will be missed. Welcome to the true Final Frontier, Leonard Nimoy--may your voyage never end.
