I believe that is standard for purchases from RKGUNS.com, it is mildly irritating that they are squeezing another $13 for shipping it to their store.

Also, take a lockable case with you. They require it to leave in a locked case which is another nickel & dime to try to sell a case at the time of sale.
Lockable case must be location dependent. Bought a .44mag Henry at Avon store a few months ago. Walked right out with rifle in the cardboard box. No escort or anything. YMMV

The bs rural king in Martinsville says you need a locked case by law because "it is in a school zone". Though all the people selling them and myself have a gun on our person. I am not sure if it is a rural king law, or a real law.

My understanding is that is the same at Lafayette as the city middle and high schools are only a block away.

Some people have had good luck w/ RK, but that hasn't been my experience. Tried to purchase a handgun and took 90 minutes trying to get my info entered into the RK system. Their system and my DL address didn't match up letter for letter. E.g. CR xxx E vs County Road xxx East. They hadn't even got to the NICS entry yet! Finally the guy asked if I needed it that day as he didn't have access and needed a manager.... Went to my favorite LGS the next AM. They had it in stock for $10 more, and I walked out w/ it in <15 minutes.

This is only for the Martinsville and terra haute stores.

It must be location specific then, Martinsville & at least one other location (can't remember where) had that policy.
Isn't the Martinsville store near a school? For some reason I was thinking that played into their policy, but I could be full of :poop:. Often am. :):

Edit: I guess I was right. Should've read all the way to the end before posting!

I’m grateful that they’re an ffl dealer.

A bit of a pita buying from them, but if/when they go the way of the other big stores, rk would be definitely missed.

Lots a stupid policies all around. Just part of the game.

Martinsville RK requires them because they're within 1000ft of a school. They tried to make me buy a case once and lost a sale.

EDIT: Just saw this was already posted. But still, it's BS. Also, isn't RK one of those stores that doesn't let you pick up until they get an approval? Could be a PITA if ATF doesn't reply.

I shop there because my wife likes the popcorn and my chickens like the feed. That's about it.

Reason I’ve never bought from the Martinsville store. Greenwood hasn’t required it. They just walk you out…at least that was the case 2 years ago.
