I've had mine since the fall of 2009 and it's been a great gun. I also have a couple of Kimbers and the Rock compares very well to those, but just a bit heavier. I had a few issues out of the box, but since then it's been great. I swapped out the recoil spring at around 400 rounds with a stronger one and have swapped the thumb safety for an extended one but that's about it. It's been a great gun and shoots every bit as well as any of the other 1911s I have.

My .38 Super is a full size.
Only issue was the mag. Tossed it and got a Colt mag, no problems since.

I bought one thinking that I would save the wear on my kimber. It worked out great, now I carry the rock island and leave the kimber at home where its safe. This way I have a carry gun im used to and dont have to beat up my nice guns.
