Anyone else here have a Ruger 77/44 carbine with the rotary magazine?

Since day 1 mine has been a PITA to eject the magazine.

I have to hold in the release catch lever and then wiggle the mag front to back to get it to pop out.

I don't want it to just drop out at the slightest touch but wholly crap!

Sure do...and you are absolutely correct about the rotary mag. That is the only thing I don’t like about my 77. It’s light, accurate (for a 44 mag), and easily maneuverable in tight quarter blinds or tree stands. I switched to a 270 for most of my deer hunting, but I’m keeping the Ruger for hunting thickets or bedding areas where shots won’t exceed 75-100 yards max. But man, getting that damn magazine out can be tough! Luckily I’ve never had to remove it in the field.

Buds had a couple. Mag was a pita.

As far as plastic mags go.....Steyr pro hunter snaps in, dual retainer, easy in out. They should all be that good. Non rotary, but its zero fuss.
