I have an old 45lc black hawk that I dont shoot much becuse I dont like how the grips get thicker and flair out at the bottom. I could sand them down and will but, thought I may find somthing to look at off the shelf.l like the wood any recomendations on grips that don't flare out at the bottem?
Yes, the frame is shaped that way rear of the gun to the barrel. But the frame is the same thickness across the side all the way through the grip. But the wood"not the frame" gets thicker at the bottem thats what I am refering to.
Try a set of the black plastic grips Ruger puts on the new production guns. The panels are much thinner than the older wood grips. I don't think they sell them on their site, but you can call direct and get some. They sent me a set a couple years ago for free.
