Hi, I am looking at buying a Ruger MKIII 6 7/8" Bull barrel stainless, It is only $349 New Is this a good deal it sure seams like it from what i have saw. I was wondering what your opinions are to long of barrel? I would use it on trapline and for shooting squirrels and small game.
    Thanks for any input

Thats a steal if it's in good condition. When I was purchasing my MKIII I prefered the balance of the 5.5 slabside, but it's all personal preference. I'm sure that would be a great firearm, especially at the price!

Any opinions on if the barrel is too heavy? Unbalenced?
    Thanks

Personally, I liked the balance of the shorter bull barrel (I only had the bull barrels and the hunter barrel to compare) I think it's really a personal thing though and you should handle both to see which you like better in YOUR hand.

I have the 6 7/8" barrel on my MKIII Hunter, although it is fluted. Its great handling and very accurate, I think that its fine for the field as well as the range.

I say go for it.... seems like a good price.

I ended up buying a MKIII 5.5" barrel stainless with 3 clips new for $350. I am very happy with it. My first handgun and i love it.
