Ruger Revolver questions

I was helping my mom sort through the boxes of stuff in my dad's old room and we found more guns. My dad was apparently a big Ruger fan - He had more of those than he did anything else. We're not sure if HE even knew what all he had anymore.

I have a question...How do you click open the cylinder on a Single Six or a Blackhawk? I wasn't able to get either one to budge. I can't tell if I'm that ignorant or if there's a problem that needs to be fixed.

Glad I could help. If they are loaded be careful since it sounds like you have never messed with those types of revolvers

They were in a box of random stuff in my Dad's closet. I wanted to make sure they were unloaded before leaving my mom with them. When I couldn't figure them out easily, I didn't want to mess around too much so I just put them in a spare gun case and locked them up for her. Now that I know what to look for I can check them and secure them better when I go back for Thanksgiving.
