Hi guys! I have a random question to ask. Maybe this is the wrong spot for it but since it deals with ammunition then maybe not. I just recently a:rockwoot:quired a ruger sp101 in 32h&r magnum( not to be confused with the sp 101 327 federal magnum). Now am I able to shoot 32s&w, 32s&w long, and 32 acp thru the sp101 32 h&r magnum like you are able to thru the sp101 327 federal magnum? Of course with the exception of 327 federal mag because of the case length.

Thanks for the help in advance!

32acp will be fine in a sp101 or any modern revolver. Accuracy might suffer, extraction will probably be difficult and you'll probably get a bunch of lite strikes unless you moonclipped it, but it can chamber and handle it just fine.

It will also make a mess in your cylinder.

SAAMI probably doesn't list the acp because it's really not intended for a rimmed chambered revolver caliber.

On another note, I use to own a sp101 in 327. Got a hold of a box of shorts and it was a lot of fun, as well as longs. Very versatile platform.

I agree that you wouldn't hurt the SP101 w/.32 ACP.
Just didn't want the OP to think they were interchangeable like the S&W's.

Have one myself in .32 HRM and you're right...fun little gun.

Any one know where I can get my cylinder done locally so it can take the 327 federal magnums? I know a place in Tennessee that does the conversion. But I would like to keep it locally.
