Ruger SR 1911

I sponsored at a level with the Friends of the NRA that I got one of these for my sponsor gun. Got some extra bling added to it for a NRA sponsor gun.

Have not had it out to shoot yet but is is a good feeling, good looking 1911. I'll get it out of the box sometime next week and go to the range.

Does anyone have any info about the backlog on the SR1911? I mean, what kind of order do they have in their distribution network? I understand they are popular. One dealer I know can’t get his hands on one, others haven’t seen any for months. Any official type info?

Ruger isnt taking anymore orders to begin with, aside from the fact that the 1911s are handmade by two guys (at least thats what I was told, take that with a grain of salt)

I thought they opened up a second assembly line for it and were suppose to start catching up with demand sometime this year. I'd love to have one but if I can't get my hands on one in the next couple of months I may just go with the Kimber Custom TLE II instead.

sr 1911

I orderd one , got it, not impressed going to have a phone date with costomer sevice. I dont even want to range test it .
i have better and cheeper non us 1911's , the slide to frame is so loose
that it makes noise as it rubs the frame. i hpoe it gets taken care of.

I'm sure it will, Ruger has excellent customer service.

599 is an amazing price one is selling on gunbroker now for 7 some. I wonder if premiere arms is getting anymore for 599.

Took mine out, started to take pics to put for sale on here, the more I took pics, the more I said to myself, put it back up stop being silly, & shoot it every chance you get!

It is scary how the voices talk to me.

FYI, $635 + tax, not as great as $599, but not shabby.
