I'm still wondering how your friends managed to retrieve it from I-465 without getting themselves run over by a tractor trailer.

Took care of me once, replaced everything on a NM Blackhawk except the cylinder and frame. The pistol had been found rusted out on a Nevada mountain.

If your slide is crushed it's a done deal.
I once sent in a revolver found on a Nevada mountain top.
After checking it in with the Las Vegas Metropolotan Police, I sent it to Ruger.
This revolver had no grips, no springs, a bent trigger guard, rusted cylinder and barrel, with the front sight twisted over.
When I got it back in a new box, it had new wood grips a new trigger guard, new springs, new trigger/hammer etc, etc. A new barrel, and a new re blue.
Only my cylinder has pitting under the blue to remind me of what it once looked like.
I have given it to my son, and hope he gives it to my grandson.

I bought a used Stainless Steel Ruger revolver, don't even remember which caliber even.
It would not "cycle" the cylinder properly.
Took it to ZR Tactical for a quick fix but they said I'd have to send it back to Ruger.
    Ruger couldn't fix it either????
They sent me a new gun in replacement (looked new to me).
I was thrilled since I bought the gun used (from a member here).
He had taken it in on trade and never used it so he had no idea there was a problem with it. (which is why I always function check anything before I sell it)
