They also want to walk you out and give you your purchase at the door, and last and only time I ordered something to their store they would not let me even hold it until the NICs check was passed (said it was their policy since it did not have a trigger lock). If I hadn't ordered and paid for the gun before I ever got to the store, I would have walked. If you're not familiar with their policies on gun sales they are somewhat infamous. They will hold an gun until you are cleared through NICS. If it takes a month to clear NICS that's when they will release it. The law says after 5 business days the can release it without NICS clearance but their corporate policy says otherwise..
It opened up last saturday but official grand opening is the 27th .Last weekend they had guns but not a lot of ammo and it was a 2 box limit for ammo. I hope they will have more of everything for Grand opening.I wonder if they will have the gun department fully stocked
I bought my Big Boy X from them online last Spring and had it transferred to their store in Niles. Hopped over the state line to pick it up and had no problems. They let me look it over when they brought it out and then once my background came back they handed me the rifle and the bag with the ammo I bought right there at the gun counter and I walked through the store and out, not even an escort. They also want to walk you out and give you your purchase at the door, and last and only time I ordered something to their store they would not let me even hold it until the NICs check was passed (said it was their policy since it did not have a trigger lock). Isn’t that the name of the game though? I mean that’s what this country is now based off of..??Some musty **** will "win" it.
Then jump on here, pay $20 bucks to get access to the classifieds then sell it to some smuck here for a nice profit.
Wife desperately wanted to purchase a new micro 9mm Kimber.., I know... so.. a black stock micro Kimber was over $700, I told the guy to get bent. Force two hours to Ft.Wayne and we picked up a nice two tone crimson grip micro for $600 with 6 mags. They also want to walk you out and give you your purchase at the door, and last and only time I ordered something to their store they would not let me even hold it until the NICs check was passed (said it was their policy since it did not have a trigger lock). I'm not sure I'd be interested in going out of my way to purchase another gun from them. They would have to have something I couldn't get elsewhere, unless something changed. Also, this was at the greenwood location but every self serve terminal they had to complete the 4473 on was down. I finally pulled the plug and rebooted one myself as none of the employees could figure that out the one time I made a purchase.
I'm hoping the one in Avon is different as its close to me.
It's 3 days not 5 and it's commonly called the Brady Transfer date due to the provision in the "Brady Bill". More and more big box retailers are going this route, it's cuts down on their liability and a lot less hassle from the FBI and ATF.If you buy at another shop in the area and the NICS check doesn't come back with a proceed within 5 days they can and usually will release the firearm. It doesn't happen often but if for some reason the determination doesn't come back for a month RK will not release it as the law allows after 5 days.
Rural king is the only retailer I'm aware of that holds the firearm until the determination returns. As I said, if you don't mind waiting on the NICS check to return to get your firearm it's up to you. Just be aware the law says the firearm can be released after the waiting period and RK has a corporate policy against that. I know a guy that waited 10 days without a determination and they didn't want to return his $$$, told him he had to wait until the check came back.. If a store runs a back ground check that takes longer than 3 days to get a response and if that response is a denial they will get a call from the FBI or ATF wanting to know if they transferred the firearm and if so who to. It's nice to be able to tell them that no transfer occurred. That ends the conversation.
Not cool cool cool coolScalper lottery...worst timeline.
