It was a transfer from RKGuns.com. That was the ONLY reason I used them, and won't make that mistake again. So I was buying the gun from them and they would not let me hold it before the transfer (though already bought and paid for)... yeah, it was that bad. So, in conclusion, buying from their website has all the drawbacks of dealing with them in person (plus you get to pay $10 for them to ship it to the store, though no transfer fee, since you are buying from them) plus you get to pay for it in advance, then get there and wait in line to do the transfer, without being able to handle the firearm.

It is the only gun I have ever purchased from them, and will never do it again, no matter what their price is. And I've been able to consistently beat their prices anyway now, after looking and watching particular guns on Brownells, Grab a Gun and others, and have all my transfers (both before this and after the one at RK) with USDS now. Those guys area great. I drive from Avon/Plainfield area just to do transfers with USDS.

Please know I was not knocking yours or anybody elses decision to use any of the big box outlets I just can not wrap my mind around why for a firearm purchase......:):
Just to many situations we hear about. Plus going out among "Them".....:):

I dread going to a Home depot or Lowes these days and I have to go for projects.

No worries, I am right there with you now for sure. My strong response was more from remembering the bad experience at RK, than anything you said.

I try and stay out of as many big box stores as I can. The older I get, the less interested I get in dealing with anyone's BS.

I bought a couple of firearms from rural king and the service could have been better. The transaction took forever both times. I’ve also asked for assistance with items there and been asked to ask other people there. The rural king closer to home isn’t so bad but Lafayette is horrible. If box stores anymore could care less about customer service anymore. Even trying to call for any kind of service anymore is a nightmare. I use small local stores whenever I can.
