im not really informed real well on this matter, probully alot of us dont really know whats going on. so whats going on there????? why did russia invade?? is there reason for doing so??? hows the rest of the world going to respond???

Most of the eastern half (Crimea) are ethnically Russian and speak that language. The western half are ethnically Ukranian. The Ukranians don't like the Russians much, look up "holodomor". The east is stronger economically than the west, and the west wants to be tied more with the EU. One of the big items is the gas pipelines from Russia through Ukraine to Europe, which is a big reason Russia wants to keep Ukraine under control. Ultimately, there's probably not a good reason to keep it as one country, but nobody seems to want to accept that.
