    So much for allies….

But, but, but... Trump destroyed our image on the international stage! Biden was going to restore that and gain back their respect! I heard it right here on INGO.

I wouldn't read too much into it.

Haven't you ever ducked a call from an elderly parent/grandparent?:D

You just assume it's gonna be about what's on sale at the grocery store, the soup they ate for lunch, or worse, they got a new cellphone or computer and can't remember their wifi password but expect you to.
Or set the clock on their VCR, teach them how to use the TV remote (again), etc... :):

I'm there everyday with my parents. I don't dodge anything because they can do some crazy things sometimes that is hard to get undone. For instance giving out all their information to someone claiming to be from the IRS on a pop-up window while browsing the internet.
The passwords I have set to one I know and I have it wrote down for them.
One of these days I hope my children are as understanding as I am with my parents, and have patience with me as I have with my parents. We will all be there one of these days unless we are blessed with excellent mental acuity.

I wouldn't put much faith in Saint Biden either.

After invading the sovereign countries of Afghanistan, Iraq, Libya, and Syria. And those are just the ones of recent history, I'm sure he voted and approved of the countless others.

I don't think you understand that there aren't "good guys" here. Real life isn't a marvel movie.
Sorry, please put your straw man away. I’ve never supported that worthless pile of ****. In fact I don’t believe we’d be in this cluster **** if that **** sucking mother ****ing piece of **** ****stick wasn’t in office. So put your victim status away, put your straw man back in the garden.

    You're a saint.

My wife is in the same boat as you. She too is a saint. Her mom is at the point of doing crazy, potentially damaging things.

My parents are just in the crazy and mildly annoying stage. Plus, they live across the road. If they really need something they just burst through the front door unannounced.

    .
I'm also wondering if Ukraine will only use them to defend their air space, or if a few planes could find their way to the Kremlin so say hi to Vlad.
Not sure about range, Russian air defenses etc ...

The Ukrainian forces already fired missiles into Russian territory and destroyed a couple of Russian planes parked on a runway.

It's fair game to bomb the other side if you're being bombed.

It would bring us back to WW2 Allied raids over Germany.

Mathias Rust found his way to the Kremlin in a Cessna 172, how hard could it be.;)

My parents moved in with me when my Dad was diagnosed with cancer. He passed away a few months later and I've been taking care of my mother full time now for just over 9 years.

Oh I certainly agree. What most do not understand is that financial services(including derivatives and various money schemes) account for 22% of our GDP. The derivatives market is estimated at over $1 quadrillion in US dollars. How? Leverage. See a derivative in oil with an original wager of say $1000 can be leveraged up to 100 times that amount(depending on the odds makers, but 3-7x is fairly normal these days). Now if the original $1000 investor loses he gets a margin call. If he can not pay the $3000(went with the lowest leverage commonly used) he is in default. With derivatives there is no such thing as insurance(or oversight for that matter it is the wild west, but you do sign contracts so some legal framework exists, just no one to really watch over the whole fiasco that is substantially larger than all the economies of the world combined).

Think of a derivative like this. It is a bet something will move one way or the other, and by how much in some cases. That is all it really is. A bet. Those "bets" equal billions of dollars every single day, with some losing and some winning. The problem has always been what happens when one side loses, badly. That is what is happening currently.

If it were a card game in Vegas the dealer just wiped the whole table, then stole the chips and ran out of the casino, where a pick pocket stole a few of his chips. Even the dealer was robbed because it turns out chips are not money and no one is letting him cash in his chips(they went into default) and the pick pocket, well he has a few chips to use(while trying to not get caught). Everyone else involved though gets nothing and all lost their original wager. Now do that x $1 quadrillion. You likely see the problem of where we are.

China's 4th largest bank that just imploded and defaulted. That was because of the nickle derivatives it held and leveraged. One type of derivative was all it took, that was all it took. It lost and lost big. It can not meet the margin call and will never have enough in assets to(unless the government of China prints the money and just gives it to them, like our Fed did with our banks during the MBS fiasco commonly called the housing bubble).

And the trigger for all of this? Sanctions. It really is that simple.

Ok now for the rofl part I just read.(just released this evening, more than 24 hours after the bank defaulted).
    "
(Bloomberg) -- A unit of China Construction Bank Corp. was given additional time by the London Metal Exchange to pay hundreds of millions of dollars of margin calls it missed Monday amid an unprecedented spike in nickel prices, according to people familiar with the matter.
The reprieve from the LME means that the unit, called CCBI Global Markets, is not formally in default(**me...um yea it does it also meant someone at the LME is expecting the government of China to bail out the bank so they can get paid "hundreds of millions"**), the people said, asking not to be identified as the matter isn’t public.
The non-payment isn’t necessarily an indicator of any problems at the parent company, which is one of China’s largest banks."<-----

Yesterday it was " hundreds of millions" in losses. Today before markets in the USA open,it has been elevated....just a bit. Over 8 BILLION in losses on their nickle trade alone. Derivatives fun until you lose your wager.

China's bank and the LME...(and now you understand why the LME wants paid. They are owed that 8 BILLION on a wager that only cost them a few million.

Now who do you think the government of China is blaming? Russia's invasion or the US sanctions that caused the cascade failure in the commodities markets?

I see only three possible causes our government is doing this.
1.They are so dumb they do not understand reality, but felt the need to virtue signal the world.
2.They are intelligent and did it because they are pure evil, and wanted to destroy not just our economy but most of the worlds. For some purpose of course(likely very bad for everyone IE to kill the US dollar).
3.They wanted a world war and most of the world against us.

I will admit, I am biased against Ukraine at this point because I took people's word in good faith, only to discover it's nothing more than lie after lie after lie. After finally getting down to brass tacks, I don't believe anything beyond what I see and aggregate based on various stories and known biases.

Oh, so you're a commie symp...

So, which is more supportable, a democratically elected government with corruption in it's bureaucracy, or however you would describe Russia under Putin.

And I will grant, one can be more neutral, a pox on both their houses, let the chips fall where they may.

SIDENOTE: what institution created by man is incorruptible? Heck, even the Church have their issues. (whatever religious flavor)

I just saw former AG Bill Barr on Fox and he made an interesting point, he said that one of the tragic consequences of the false "Russia Collusion" narrative is that it tied Trump's hands on dealing with Russia and eliminated any possibility of him being able to negotiate anything that may have avoided the current situation. Who knows if he could have accomplished anything, but we also have Hillary to thank for the fact he couldn't even try.

    So much for allies….

The rift between Mr. Biden and Saudi Arabia’s crown prince stretches back to the 2020 presidential election, when the Democratic candidate vowed to treat the kingdom as a “pariah” state after a Saudi hit team killed Mr. Khashoggi in 2018 in Istanbul. -WSJ (slight hint here the crown prince claims no knowledge of the hit team, and says he did not order it).

Biden two years later hat in hand for Europe...he won't take my call to give EU oil, strange. I guess I should call Iran and Venezuela. At least they take human souls as currency. That screaming about having oil in my back yard is getting annoying, send some people to shut them up.

ROFL at FOX news. Sorry, this **** is so bad it is comical. Other than so many of them moving notice not ONE of those is in a bag,and all the tops are open....sigh. They are going to need better crisis actors, and more realistic sets...wow.

That kind of inept journalism reminds me of when they showed gunfire at Knob Creek (RIP) as actual middle eastern fighting
