S&W Sport II under $500 again

We issued 40+ of the Sport II to patrol and such. After a year+ in-service so far so good. I've got about two thousand rounds through mine and it still runs better than I ever expected. It's been surpringly consistently accurate and reliable.
If someone was in the market for an AR for target shooting, plinking or even home defense, I believe the Sport II would be an inexpensive option.

The II has a forward assist (the 1.0 Sport did not).

I used it last week. Guy shot at his wife then holed up with the gun. I got out of my car, got my rifle, chambered a round, did a chamber check, and hit the FA afterward to ensure the bolt was fully seated after the check.

Interesting. I guess I was thinking “use” as in needed it to close the bolt, rather than just being double sure it’s already closed.
