    Highly illegal but it will probably function. You will be manufacturing a short barreled rifle and need to first submit and get approved the proper forms and pay the $200 tax.

    Oh, i didn't know that was illegal... Is it only illegal if i leave my property with it, or just in general no matter what?

    May I suggest buying a Ruger 10/22 Charger? Basically a 10/22 that comes from factory as a pistol. Not much more expensive than the SBR stamp you'd have to get to convert this rifle and of course saves you the labor.
