I saw Sammy Hagar open for Ted Nugent somewhere around 1980 at the Colosseum in Portland Oregon. That was an awesome concert.

I saw Sammy on the Can't drive 55 Tour at MSA (thats Market sqaure arena for you kids) and it was one of the best high energy concerts I had ever been too.

Love Standing Hampton, Listen to the whole album at full volume and you can say you've Rocked.

I was working a gun show in Fort Wayne when Sammy came to town many years ago.He came to the gun show and my son and I escorted him through the show.He then offered to take my son with him to his show and bring him out on stage with him.It was one of the biggest thrills of my boys life.Sammy has a son the same age as my boy and the same name.He is a real gentleman and all around nice guy.

I've heard from multiple sources that Sammy is one of the nicest guys in rock.
The other ones I persistently hear good things about are Alice Cooper and Mark Knopfler.
I also heard a talk radio show guy (Mike McConnell) recount a time that he and several other guys went to a bar with Billy Gibbons after a ZZ Top gig, and that Billy cheerfully bought everyone's drinks.

He is indeed a nice guy....I had occasion to have a drink with him at the Four Seasons in Florida a while back. My wife still gives me a hard time for not getting his autograph.

I saw van hagar here in eville on the 5150 tour, I remember Sammy in the rafters way above the floor singing aint talking bout love, the line "I've been to the edge and there I stood and looked down" while leaning over the crowd...just like it was yesterday!

one of the best shows ive ever seen!

as for nice guys in rock, alice cooper met a friend of mine at the local olive garden, (his dad is the head chef) he was in town opening for motley crue, a year later the same friend paid for the vip meet and greet in nashville, and he remembered him not just the face, but alice remembered his name!

as for mark knopfler, seeing one of his concerts is on my top 3 must see concert list
    1-eric Clapton
2-trans Siberian orchestra (i've seen them 3 times)
    3-mark knopfler

and as for nice guys tso is amazing when they played here in 12 or 13, after the concert they signed autographs for over an hour, al piterelli dumped a bag of picks on the table, and if you wanted one, you grabbed one, he made the comment "I think we played around here in the spring", I said yes you did right across the street (they played the Beethoven show earlier in the year and Christmas show in December)

Well, despite not knowing much about anything else, I gotta admit you have good sense about music. Hagar > Roth.

Kut (will try to watch this)

This is so true. VH's music, writing, and general presence as a band improved immensely when Sammy joined up. Add to that the fact that he was a certified headliner on his own, and their shows were dazzling. Their 1993 tour was stunning, and it was great hearing Sammy songs and VH songs in the same show. I really hated the way the split happened, and Eddie and Alex completely :poop:ing on the Hall of Fame induction. Then, when Diamond Dave returned, that first album was trash.
