My 1st attempt at getting my new savage dialed in.
the 1st 5 shot "group" with 145gr FMJ WWB.

The 2nd group is Speer 168gr HPBT projectiles pushed with 44.7grs of Varget seated at 2.8" using the brass and primers left over from pulled mil-surp rounds.

3rd group is the Speer 168gr, 44.7gr Varget seated at 2.8 in Winchester brass and primers.

Off to a good start but plenty of room for improvement.

Great groups. Try 43 grains for tiny groups at 100 yards. But for 300 yards+, the 44.7 varget load is the better. You need bullet speed to counteract wind at distance.

JMO. But i enjoy seeing tiny 100 yard groups. For what they are worth.....

Www.fwrr.us is having a 300 yard prone match later in April. Bring that fine rifle an 50 rounds and play with us..

This is going to be my long distance trainer, after I get it dialed in at 100 I'll step out to 200 and tweak the load. I'm a ways off of having a consistent 300yrd round, let alone 50rds to burn!
