    They are beautiful rifles indeed. I passed on one just a few months ago. A well loved but still nice 99 in .308. I had my eye on a different gun at the time and let that savage slip through my fingers. It honestly haunts me now and I won't be satisfied until I own one just like it. Lesson learned, life is too short not to buy all the guns you want!

    Someone dug up an old thread, but it is an interesting rifle. It locks up almost like a semi auto, with the tilting bolt..

    Which means it easily handles most of the big name cartridges.

    There was even a military version made..

    its a rare find.
