I've got one of the pre Accu-trigger FP10s, and it is the most accurate rifle I've ever shot. The only thing I've done to it, is add a Rifle Basix trigger and a Choate stock.
I have never shot a model 40 but savage rifles are some of my favorites. I got into the model 110's because those are some of the few rifles that you can easily find left handed and they are by far the least expensive. I think savage offers the best bang for the buck out there on a bolt action rifle.
Congrats on the purchase!
I own several! 222Rem,223Rem, 2 22-250s and a 204ruger and they are all shooters! I have really been wanting one of the new Model 40s but haven't had the cash to spare when I do find one.
IMHO Savage has always built a good rifle but in the past few years they have really hit the mark on the paper and in the QC department!
I have always liked savage rifles. And I am hoping to buy a couple more here in the next year or so. But one will be to make a bolt action rifle with chambered in a cartridge legal for deer in IN.
Savage is my favorite rifle brand. I have owned a couple of 223's and I currently own a 30-06. I plan on buying one of the new 12btcss thumbhole 223's one of these days.
