I wouldn’t be here if it wasn’t for a 1903 in .32!
During WW1 my grandfather jumped into a trench with two German’s they knocked his rifle away and started to bayonet him. He pulled his personal 1903 and dispatched them. He also carried it in the 1916 Pancho Villa expedition in a custom cross draw holster he stated it was much quicker to draw than the standard holster when on horseback.

I know you mentioned parkerizing it but if you cerakote it that will hide a lot of the last bit of ugly you just couldn't get out, and look nice too.
