I am finally getting my stuff inline on my 458 SOCOM SBR build. I had A Rock River 16" 458 SOCOM and decided that i wanted something a little different. With the 458 SOCOM dropping from 16 to 10.5" doesn't really lose me much velocity at all.

    Rifle Specs:

    Barrel:
Southern Ballistics Research, LLC (SBR) 10.5" Stainless steel, threaded
    Receiver: Rock River Arms lower
Lower Parts Kit: Rock River Arms
    Stock: Magpul UBR stock, green
    Grip: Ergo
Forearm: aluminum free float, to change
    Muzzle Device: TBD
    Sights/Optics: TBD

This is going to be the first item put through on my NFA trust.
    • Paperwork sent 7.16.2013
    • Check cashed 7.23.2013
    • Pending 9.11.2013
    • Stamp received ?????

I will post some pictures of this built up as a pistol soon.

    Can't wait!

Aszerigan, I did see your supressed 458 socom in person yesterday at your store. It was surprisingly lightweight!

    Small updates:
    1. Upper receiver is back from Paladin Machine. They opened up the ejection port to properly eject the giant 458 SOCOM shells and retain the cover!
    2. Lower receiver is back from LaserScribe. They did the engraving on the lower to comply with NFA regulations.

Starting to become impatient with the ATF. Went pending on 9.11.2013, next Friday will be 6 months after pending. I just called them and they said that it can take up to 10 months after it goes pending!

Hence my post earlier in this thread from October. I don't know who told you 6 months. I just got my stamp back today for my form 4. Its been almost exactly 10 months.

It's not together yet. I had to modify the gas block a bit to fit under the hand guard. I am having a hard time finding a muzzle brake i like. My barrel has 5/8-32 threads which isn't very common. I looked at the RRA 458 brakes this weekend at the NRA convention and am not all that impressed. Anyone know of any others threaded for 5/8-32?
