SCGC JUNE 14 STEEL MATCH - BRING A SHOTGUN!!

REMINDER - - Saturday June 14 we are hosting our steel match again. Registration starts at 0900 hrs and going hot at 1000 hrs. $10 a gun, minimum of 100 rounds per weapon system, STAGES ARE NOT THE STEEL CHALLENGE STAGES and are not posted on our site. We welcome safe shooters of all ages. Junior shooters MUST be escorted by a parent or guardian.

BRING A SHOTGUN - - We will be setting up stages to use a shotgun. NO SLUGS or 00 buck. PLEASE bring bird shot type shells. Shotguns will be divided into classes by system operation, optics/sights and round capacity. Reloads are of course fine but nothing crazy (ex. super hot or exotic home defense). Cost per shotgun is $10. We are still working on stage layouts/total number of targets. We will post further information soon. The shotgun is something new so PLEASE be patient as we work through this new addition to our steel match.
ALSO depending on how many shooters show up we may only be shooting each stage 3 times and not the usual 5. This is due to the time it takes to reload each gun, resetting targets etc.

Is this going to be shotgun only or simply shotgun friendly?

How many shotgun rounds? Are the COFs going to be separate from the pistol, or combined?

Shotgun will be the same as handgun in most regards.

1. Shooter will shoot shotgun springs alone. Handgun and shotgun will be separate.
   
   
2. The shotgun targets will all be pepper poppers this month.
   
3. The pepper poppers will not need to be painted making it a little faster to go from shooter to shooter.
   
4. Each stage will have handgun and shotgun targets.
   
5. Number of shotgun targets per stage will be between 3 and 5 total.
   
6. Please bring 100 shotgun rounds to be safe.
   
7. Bird shot rounds ONLY. NO buckshot, slugs or exotic reloads of any kind allowed.
   
8. Like handgun the shotgun score is your time plus any misses.

Nuts, just realized this is the same weekend as Area 5. I was really hoping to get to shoot my shotgun. See you next month.
