    I have this scope on one of my .22s and it's great. The next model up (don't remember which it is right now) has parallax adjustment which helps with the longer ranges. It's a little more expensive but not by much. I've got it on a Swede M38.

    A leupold VXR 2-7x33mm would be a nice way to go for coyote hunting. Look at the available reticle options. I run one on my AR and like it quite a lot, it's a lot of scope for not a whole lot of money.

    The illumination is just a center red dot on the crosshair. If you run a front lens cover, you can leave the scope on, and it'll turn the reticle off when ever you leave the front lens cover closed for a bit, and automatically turn its self back on as soon as you open the lens cover.
